I must admit, I was skeptical about buying this palette. After all, Khloe Kardashian is just 34 years young and her BFF, Malika Haqq is just 35. And I’m, well… let’s just say a few years beyond that. But this year I vowed to be fearless and BECCA’s highlighters & blushes are normally perfection, even on mature skin so I decided to go for it. That being said, I headed straight to Ulta and purchased the Bronze, Blush & Glow Palette from BECCA’s new BFF Collection with Khloe Kardashian & Malika Haqq the day it came out.
The Bronze, Blush & Glow Palettes are part of Becca’s collaboration with Khloe & Malika who are lifelong best friends. There are two palettes available, one from Khloe for fair to medium skin tones. The other from Malika for medium to dark skin tones. I purchased the Made with Love by Khloe Palette for my light skin and I’ve been using it every day for the last couple of weeks. Let’s dive right in to a bit more about this palette including whether or not it gets a thumbs up for Over 40, mature skin!
What is It? Packaging & Shades
The palettes are both full faced palettes that include a highlighter, two blushes and a bronzer. Can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the packaging of these palettes are? The gorgeous gold case (Khloe’s Palette is gold, Malika’s is silver) is pretty enough to leave on the vanity and the little heart on the front of the palette that reads #BECCABFFS is just adorable!
The palettes are described as “An easy to use, all-in-one face palette. The sheer, buildable shades are infused with light technology to softly scatter and reflect light to smooth the look of skin and create a natural, lit-from-within glow. Everything you need to bronze, blush and glow!”
The Made with Love by Khloe Palette includes:
- Soft Matte Bronzer in Koko Bronze – a neutral medium tan.
- Soft Focus Highlighter in Glow Up – a warm creamy, vanilla.
- Radiant Blush in Fierce – a warm peach.
- Radiant Blush in Fabulosity – a cool pink.
Made with Love be Malika Palette includes:
- Soft Matte Bronzer in Bestie Bronze – a warm tan.
- Soft Focus Highlighter in Dusted – a peachy pink.
- Radiant Blush in Make Me Blush – a golden rose.
- Radiant Blush in Yes Girl! – a warm, vibrant coral.
Formula & Application
The formula of the Khloe & Malika Bronze, Blush & Glow Palette was designed using light diffusing pigments and light reflecting pearl to create a lit from within glow. The satin matte bronzer contains blurring pigments to smooth the complexion. Both palettes are paraben free.
The powders of the bronzer, blush and highlighter are quite creamy and blend effortlessly to a flawless finish. The Bronzer is a satin matte finish that can be used for contouring the cheeks, forehead and jaw line or used all over the face. The color is perfect, a light tan with no streaking.
Both Blushes are sheer with a radiant finish. One is a warm peach and the other a cool pink. I’ve been blending the two together and the result is a beautiful pinky-peach shade. Apply the blush to the applies of your cheeks and blend upwards. A couple of swipes provides a sheer pop of color and a fresh-faced radiant glow. The formula is buildable for those who prefer more color.
The Highlighter in this palette is true to what you would expect from BECCA Cosmetics who are known for their gorgeous highlighters. This is not an “in your face” highlighter but it does provide a smooth, soft, natural looking glow. Apply the highlighter to the cheekbones, under the brows and down the bridge of the nose for a glowy lit from within look.
I experienced no settling into fine lines or wrinkles with any of the products in this palette and the wear time was quite good at around 6-8 hours.
Overall, I really love this palette. The shades are gorgeous and the bronzer, blush & highlighter are blendable and buildable with no streaking or blotchiness. I think this is one of those rare formulas that works for any age – whether you’re 21 or 65 or somewhere in between! Not only is the packaging pretty but functional as well. This would be a good palette to travel with as it is lightweight and includes everything you need for your face. I’ve even used this on my eyes. A swipe of the highlighter across the lid and a bit of the bronzer in the crease is all you need to wake up your eyes (well maybe a swipe of mascara too!). I have a feeling I’ll be using this palette a lot this winter and spring!
