Oil of Olay has been around for over sixty years. Started in 1952 by an ex-Unilever employee named Graham Wulf, the name Oil of Olay was a spin on the word lanolin, one of the key ingredients in the original thick pink product called “Beauty Fluid”. Today, the brand offers a multitude of anti-aging products with someone buying an Oil of Olay moisturizer every two minutes. Over 20 million women entrust their skincare to the Oil of Olay Brand every single day. Over the years, I’ve been a fan of the brand and you can find an Olay product in my beauty cabinet every day of the year. Today, I’m going to share my thoughts on two of my favorite Oil of Olay Skincare Favorites along with a few more best bets from the line.
Oil of Olay Skincare Favorites
Benefits: Firms, Brightens, Plumps & Moisturizes the Skin
This serum is said to regenerate surface cells and deliver anti-aging ingredients 10 layers deep into skin’s surface. It hydrates to improve elasticity and firms skin for a lifted look, instantly diminishing the look of wrinkles. The serum contains key ingredients of Niacinamide (anti-ager, brightener), glycerin, panthenol, and hyaluronic acid (moisturize), tea extract (antioxidant), allantoin (anti-inflammatory) and an Amino-Peptide Complex II which provides skin-plumping benefits.
Texture & Application
I’ve been using this serum for a few years and it is one that I keep on hand all the time. I love trying different serums but I seem to revert back to this one. It isn’t a miracle worker but it’s a good maintenance product to include in your skincare routine. The texture of Olay’s Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Serum is lightweight and creamy, almost a milky consistency that quickly absorbs into the skin. It comes in a fragrance free formula and a regular formula which has a very light floral scent to it. I prefer the fragrance free version as I have sensitive skin and find some fragrances on the face irritating. The product is packaged in a pump container which is a plus and one pump of this is all you need for your entire face.
When using this serum, my skin feels and looks firmer and tighter and it does a good job of keeping fine lines & wrinkles under control. This serum is very moisturizing and when I use it, I find that I do not need to follow with a moisturizer. If you have normal to oily skin, you will probably get enough moisture from the serum alone. Use this product at night and you’ll wake up to healthy, glowing skin.
$17 – $28 USD
Olay Eyes – Eye Lifting Serum is my favorite Oil of Olay Skincare product in their entire line. I am on a never ending search for the perfect eye cream. I haven’t found perfection yet, but this one is pretty darn close. If I had to pick a holy grail eye cream today, this would be it. This little tube is quite amazing!
Benefits: Plumps, Reduces Under Eye Bags, Firms, Hydrates & Brightens
This eye serum is said to instantly plump the overall eye area and reduce the appearance of under eyes bags with every use. It de-gravitizes sagging skin on eyelids and around the eyes to reflect a firmer, lifted-eye look. With an advanced Amino-Peptide and vitamin complex, this eye serum’s velvety formula aids in surface skin turnover.
It does all of the above. It really does.
Texture & Application
Olay Eyes – Eye Lifting Serum is very lighweight & velvety. It is not a thick eye cream. It is fragrance free (which I love) and the serum can be applied to the entire eye area including the lids! To apply, I just squeeze a small amount onto my finger and then dot it under the eye and around the whole eye area including the lids and upper brow bone. Then lightly tap and blend.
Did I mention this eye serum is amazing??
First of all, it produces immediate results and who doesn’t love that? Immediately after applying this serum, skin under the eyes appears brighter and plump. The more you use it, the better it gets! With daily use, skin under the eyes is firmer, brighter, smoother and more lifted. I will continue to use this and I hope it never gets discontinued!
$24 – $27 USD and worth every penny! 🙂
