Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Review

I was recently sent all three products from Derma E‘s new Skin Restore line to try.  Although I had heard of the brand and seen some of their products, I didn’t know too much about them.  When I researched these products and found that they contained peptides, more importantly the peptide known as Matrixyl Synthe’6, my answer was a quick YES to trying them!  More on this in a minute… But first, here’s a bit of history on Derma E for those of you who aren’t familiar with them.

Derma E began in a small health food store in Southern California.  Their first product was a jar of Vitamin E 12,000 I.U. Moisturizing Cream.  People were amazed at the results it had on their skin and word caught on.  Over the years they’ve introduced many more products, each one rooted in their belief that skin health can be visibly improved through the right combination of potent vitamins, wholesome nutrients and exceptional ingredients.  Today Derma E has grown to become one of the largest natural facial care brands in the U.S.

I really like that philosophy as I believe the right ingredients are the key to an effective skincare product that produces results over time.  I’m one of those annoying people that actually reads the ingredient list on the back of the bottle!

I know that many of you are searching for natural skincare products so you’ll be pleased to know that Derma E is 100% vegan AND cruelty-free.  Their formulas do not contain parabens, sodium lauryl sulfates, petrolatum, mineral oil, artificial colors, gluten, soy or GMOs.

YAY!!?

Now on to the Skin Restore Line.  I’ve been using Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream, Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum & Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer every night for the last 30 days.  I continued my normal nightly skincare routine of cleansing, toning and applying retinol.  Then I applied the eye cream, followed by the serum and finally, the moisturizer.

Let me begin by saying, in my opinion, the star ingredients in all three of these products are the Peptides - Matrixyl Synthe'6 and Argireline. Click To TweetIf you’re not familiar with them, here’s a short version of what the research has shown these two peptides can do for your skin.

Matrixyl Synthe’6

Matrixyl Synthe’6 is palmitoyl tripeptide-38, a peptide produced from derivatives of the amino acids lysine and methione sulfone. Palmitoyl tripeptide-38 is a compound that regulates cell activity, wound repair and collagen tissue remodeling.  Matrixyl Synthe’6 stimulates the synthesis of six major ingredients in your skin’s health, including several types of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. The claims are that skin is built up from the inside, becoming healthier, increasing firmness and moisture retention and smoothing wrinkles out.

Argireline

Argireline is made up of peptides – chains of amino acids that can affect how cells in the body work.  It is designed to work in much the same way as Botox.  The claims are that when Argireline is applied to the skin, it is absorbed into the body and the chemical composition causes the facial muscles to contract with less force. This diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and can smooth out and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream

Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream

Description:

This double-action eye cream visibly smooths the look of even the deepest wrinkles and crow’s feet for more youthful eyes.

My Take:

I have a love/hate relationship with eye cream.  My eyes are extremely sensitive and I have a really hard time finding an eye cream that doesn’t irritate them.  And I am not entirely convinced that a separate eye cream is absolutely necessary.  I normally apply whatever I’m using on the rest of my face under my eyes and call it a night.  Having said that…

I’ve been using the Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream every night for 30 days and it has NOT irritated my eyes.  It is very gentle and I’ve even been using it on the eyelids as well as underneath the eyes.  This eye cream gets fantastic reviews.  I’ve seen multiple reviews where women swear by it for maintaining youthful skin around the eyes.

In addition to the peptides, other noteworthy ingredients in Advanced Peptides & Collagen Eye Cream are Macadamia Oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Green Tea Leaf Extract.

Overall, I like this eye cream a lot and will continue to use it.

It seems like the jar will last a long time as I’ve barely made a dip in 30 days.  You can’t beat the ingredients and the price is a very reasonable at $29.95 USD.

Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum
You’ll see an immediate plumping and smoothing of the skin from this Serum.

Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum

Description:

This nourishing, double-action treatment formula addresses the look of deep lines and wrinkles to promote smoother, younger-looking skin.

My Take:

I love this Serum. Not only is the Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum loaded with fantastic ingredients, it is fast absorbing and applies silky smooth.  For those of you who are impatient, you’ll love this. You don’t have to wait 30 days, I saw results immediately. I suspect from the Argireline. Immediately after application, skin looks plumper and smoother.

After 30 days, my skin tone has improved and my skin appears smoother and firmer.  The only con that I see is that it remains a bit tacky for about an hour after application.  While it’s not an issue at nighttime, it might be a concern if you were to use it in the AM before applying makeup.  Since I’ve only used it a night, I can’t really provide any insight as to how it performs under makeup.

In addition to the peptides, other notable ingredients in Advanced Peptides & Collagen Serum are Green Tea Leaf Extract, Provitamin B5, Plant Derived Collagen, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and vegetable derived Glycerin.

Did I mention how much I love this serum??

This Serum is $37.50 USD for a 2 oz. jar.

Derma E Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer
This is a really good moisturizer loaded with amazing ingredients that provide anti-aging benefits!

Advanced Peptides & Collagen Moisturizer

DESCRIPTION

Advanced Peptide and Collagen Moisturizer is described as a revolutionary double-action peptide cream to visibly soften and smooth the appearance of even the deepest wrinkles.

MY TAKE

Advanced Peptide and Collagen Moisturizer is a moisturizer with benefits which I appreciate.  Since we have to use a moisturizer anyway, it makes sense to use one that not only moisturizes the skin but also includes anti-aging ingredients that will help to improve the skin over time.

I live in South Carolina where it is extremely humid right now (over 95% humidity).  My skin tends to be combo to oily in the spring and summer.  I have found that I don’t really need a moisturizer every night this time of year.  Sometimes just a serum is enough.  So I haven’t used this moisturizer every single night, only when I felt my skin needed it over the last 30 days.  That being said, this is a really great moisturizer that I will definitely use during the fall and winter months and on occasion in the spring and summer.  With the added peptides, collagen and other great ingredients, this is most definitely a keeper!

In addition to the peptides, other notable ingredients in Advanced Peptide and Collagen Moisturizer are Plant Derived Collagen, Macadamia Seed Oil, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Green Tea, Witch Hazel and Joboba Seed Oil.

Advanced Peptide and Collagen Moisturizer is $35.00 USD for a 2 oz. jar.

  1. I only use natural products on my face. I am allergic to many ingredients, but I wanted a natural product with collagen AND hyaluronic acid. I now exclusively use the Somaluxe Renewal Serum – it has the collagen and the hyaluronic acid I was looking for, and all natural ingredients This is why I decided to try your product.

It keeps my facial skin soft, pores closed and moisturized. I don’t have any wrinkles anymore , even though I’ m 52.
